Step1:

A butterfly basically consists of three shapes, a triangle, oval and a cone. So what you need to do is sketch out these shapes like below and then position them like in sample 2.

Step 2:

The shapes are to be used as a guide and now that you have the basic shape down you can start to add detail. So now what you need to do is erase the lines that overlap like in sample 3, and using the shapes as a guide you can draw in your own wing and body shapes.

Step 3:

Now erase the guide and add a pattern within the wings like in sample 6.

Step 4:

It is important to have a clean image before you start to add color.  So you may want to consider drawing around the whole image with a much neater line and erase any unwanted lines or marks, like in sample 7.

We’re going to have a step by step guide first, and then a couple of videos, some for beginners and some for the more advanced drawers. So, in the end all these should help you draw a cat as you want it.

Now, there’s nothing much to say before we’ll move one, so let’s just get drawing that cat.

The step by step guide

First, you start by drawing a guideline like in the picture above: an oval and a cross over it. That will help you draw first the shape of the head and then the face elements. But before drawing those elements, you should place you cat’s years. Then, wotk on the mouth, tiny nose and eyes.

You should get something like in the first picture above. Now it’s time to continue with the body. Draw an oval just under the head and continue it with a carrot shaped sketch like above. Now, you’ll also have to draw the unseen parts of the body. As you can see in the third picture from the ones above, it’s that peared shaped thingy.

Now, with the help of those guides, draw the legs of your cat, and don’t forget about the tail… Finally, you just have to color your drawing.

You should get something like the last cat in the picture above. If you didn’t, just keep trying. And that’s about it with our step by step how to draw a cat guide (with pictures coming from here)

First steps: draw sketch-lines for you puppy’s framework

Start by drawing two circles: a bigger one for the head and a smaller one for the body of your puppy. Draw a slight-left curved cross over the big circle, that’s going to help you position face elements. It’s left curved because, as you can see in the picture above, the face of your puppy is turned right a little bit. Finally, sketch the neck , legs and tail.

Second step: draw the head

Draw two big eyes in the top corners of the cross drawn at step 1 like you can see in the picture. Then draw the big nose and the years. Add the top of the head and focus on the mouth. The picture bellow will show you better what you have to do in order to get this puppy look as it should.

Final step: Draw the body and add finishing details

In this final step you have to focus on the body: draw the legs, tail, neck, etc. And finally finish those big eyes that make a puppy drawing so expressive. And that’s it. I’m sure you’re drawing looks like the one in the pic, right?

What we are going to do is take it one step at a time, going from basic shapes, like circles and curved lines, to a fine looking doggy, as seen here. In every step of this guide on how to draw a cartoon dog, all you have to do is follow the red lines and that’s all there is to it! Let’s get started!

Step 1: First, we need a basic shape for the body and the head of your puppy, a kidney-bean and an oval, respectively. Then draw one more oval for the snout.

Step 2: Now let’s give our puppy a chance to play around, by drawing a couple of legs on it’s near side, as seen bellow. Don’t forget the paws, just a couple of small ovals should do it.

Step 3: This step in our learn how to draw a dog guide teaches you to draw the ears with a couple of curved lines. Add two more legs(similar to those already sketched above), on the far side, then connect the head and the body through a short neck. To make the picture whole, draw a simple tail.

Step 4: Let’s animate our furry friend, by adding some detail to his face: eyes, a nose, hair and a smiley mouth. After you sketch the toes, you should draw some spots, all over the dog’s body, just in a random pattern, which is up to you.

Step 5: As you can see, by looking at your drawing so far, everything came together quite nicely. All that is left to do is trace the lines you want to keep with a pen and just erase the extras.

The example shown above is colored in shades of brown, but you can use whatever combination of colors you like for the dog you learned to draw in this guide.

These simple set of images(as examples) and instructions will teach you how you can go from basic geometrical shapes, like squares and triangles, to a very lively tropical fish. So, here we go:

Step 1: First of all, draw a square and don’t worry about getting it perfectly straight. Then draw two triangles, one on each side of your square, to sketch a fish shape and the give it a tail, by drawing one more triangle, as the tail.

 Step 2: Give your fish the possibility to swim drawing some fins, one for the upper part, one for the lower part and one in the middle of the initial square. Now draw an eye and a heart-shaped mouth, as seen here.

Step 3: This step is the easiest yet(imagine that!) as it gives you the creative hand. All you have to do is draw some wavy lines up and down your new pet fish. Do this in any way you like.

 Step 4: Now it’s time for a few finishing touches. You will need to erase the corners of your triangles, square and fins, as well as the extra lines, so that the parts of the body fit together. Give your fish a chance to actually swim in the ocean!

I choose to color our fish in blue and yellow, but there are lots of other color schemes you can use to bring live to your new drawing. Do so and that’s a wrap!

In order for you to be able to show off your drawing talents with minimal efforts, I have prepared a quick 5 step how to draw a pig guide, illustrated with pictures. All you have to do is follow the red lines and before you know it,, you’ll have a nice pig, like the one shown here.

Step 1: First, you’ll need to draw a bean shape for the body, then add an oval, for the head, with a little lump where the chin should be.

Step 2: Now we need to draw a couple of legs for your pig, so just sketch two short rounded rectangles for that and another one for the snout, then draw a squiggly shape for the tail.

We are going to learn today how to draw cartoon frogs. Should not be that hard as all of you know how a frog should look: a green tiny thing with big eyes and skinny legs.

We’re going to have a quick 4 steps how to draw a frog guide, and then a couple of videos. So let’s start learning how to draw a frog. In this quick guide we’re going to learn how to draw our frog step by step. The red lines represent the things you have to draw on each current step, while the grey ones are were drawn before. That’s only to make this how to draw a frog guide easier for you to understand.

Step 1: First draw a apple shape form for the body of the frog. On top of it put two small circles for the eyes and sideways, add two oval shapes for the legs.

Step 2: Work on the legs. Add the back feet and draw two lines across the oval shapes draw before in order to suggest that the back legs are bended. Also draw the arms of the frog.

Step 3: Complete the arms, eyes, mouth and add a couple of spots on your frog’s body.

Step 4: Finally, you could add some shapes or color your frog. We choose to color it and here’s what we ended with.

Video 1 – draw a cartoon frog

Step 1: Start by drawing a couple of guidelines: a big circle for the head cut by two lines: one for the eyes of the wolf and one that will help you draw the wolf’s snout.

Step 2: Start sketching the wolf’s head like in the picture.

Step 3: Continue drawing the shape of the head using the guidelines

 Step 4: Focus on the wolf’s ears and draw them. Make sure they are placed naturally, exactly where they should be. Draw lines for where the jaw bone and the wolf’s shoulder should be.

Step 5: Sketch the eyes and the nose of your wolf.

Step 6: Draw the mouth and feel free to add details and shadows to your sketch in order to accentuate the ears, eyes and the fur of your wolf. That should be it. You can then delete the guidelines and add some color if you want to.

Today you are going to find out how to draw the monkey in the picture above. Let’s get starting.

How to draw a monkey – Step 1: Draw a kidney-bean shape for the body. Now think where the face of the monkey should be placed and add an overlapping oval and circle for the face and the head. Draw two more ovals, one on either side of the head, for the ears of your monkey.

How to draw a monkey – Step 2: Now draw the tail of the monkey: a curved, snakelike shape. Add two shapes from the bottom of the body for the monkey’s back legs. Try some different models of feet, and choose the ones you end up liking the most. Just don’t forget that a monkeys’ feet look like hands.

How to draw a monkey – Step 3: Add two more curved shapes for the arms from the upper part of the body and draw hands at their end. Again, take your time. Might not get what you want to from the first try.

How to draw a monkey – Step 4: Now it’s time for the details. Draw eyes, pupils and nostrils. Add curved lines for the mouth and for the monkey’s eyebrows, nose and hair. Also work on all the other details, like drawing fingers on the monkey’s hands and feet, drawing the interior of the ear, etc.

How to draw a monkey – Step 5: Your sketch is almost over. Just erase the extra lines and trace with a pen or a marker the lines you want to keep. Don’t forget about the details you drew on the previous step.

How to draw a monkey – Step 6: Now add some color and shades to your sketch and you’ll end up exactly with the first picture in this post.

Congratulations! You can always improve your drawing with lots of practice, but for now we can say you’ve learned how to draw a monkey in a couple of steps.

Fist of all, a penguins look like a big egg with feet and tiny arms (wings) So, we’re going to start by drawing two circles: a big one and a smaller one on top. Then connect them like in the picture.

The upper circle will be your penguin’s head. Next, draw a center line down the middle of your egg. This will help you position the parts of the penguins body.

Draw the eyes and the peak of the penguin like in the picture below.

Now you’re ready to learn how to draw the feet. They are basically like triangles with curved edges. It shouldn’t be that hard.

Time to position the arms. They should be placed between those two circles you draw earlier. We’ve chosen to draw a straight arm and a bent one. But you can draw them however you want to. Just remember to position them properly on your penguin’s body. 

Finally, draw the tummy patch of your penguin, from the peak down to its feet, like in the picture.

All the lines above have been guide lines. It’s time now to draw the detailed lines, erase those extra helping lines that should not appear in the final drawing and add some color to your penguin.
